Plastic is the greatest threat to the global marine ecosystem. This AI-generated image is inspired by the birth of Venus, the famous renaissance painting by Botticelli, which idealizes beauty and celebrates the birth of a new humanity. In our modern world, I imagine Venus being born again from a trail of plastic waste, a hope that contamination of the seas is not irreversible.
