A Pastoral Masquerade

With this photo and using as model the Ball Jointed Doll (BJD) and scale chickens, I want to explore and share several themes, notably the contrast between the natural and the artificial, and the exploration of identity. The use of a featureless mask may suggest themes of anonymity, uniformity, or hidden identity, urging viewers to think about the roles individuals play in society and how they may mask their true selves. The incorporation of chickens, symbolize nature, domestic life, and the connection humans have with nature, subtly decorated to blend the pastoral with the aesthetic. This image invites contemplation on the balance between appearance and reality, the simple and the complex, and the natural and the crafted elements of life. It's a visual metaphor for the way people present themselves versus their true nature, masked beneath the surface.
