MUSEE D'ORSAY This is the museum’s main exhibition hall which opened in 1986. It housed a former Paris railway station Gare d’Orsay which was built in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle. The roof canopy was constructed as a steel and glass dome over the concourse with sixteen tracks. Steel and glass are used in architecture due to of their structural candor and artistic allure.
