Rhythm of Horses My series Rhythm of Horses was shot on China’s Inner Mongolia grassland. When people think of grasslands, stereotypes like “cattle and sheep revealed as wind bends grass” and galloping horses come to mind—but this is not my core message. I use black-and-white images to focus on horses—creatures of strength and spirituality—exploring the grassland’s and horses’ inner, poetic sides. With multiple exposures and close-ups, I show their grace: some frames have hazy horse herds in the wilderness, as if traveling through time; others capture partial contours and dynamic lines, highlighting bodily strength and rhythm; more focus on their eyes, whose deep gaze holds endless stories. Black-and-white eliminates color distractions, letting viewers focus on horses’ shapes, textures and inner spirit. My works express admiration for horses and my unique take on grassland life’s beauty. I hope to arouse audience resonance with horses’ profound imagery, breaking the “galloping freely” stereotype.
