Each year in GEBIS Monastery at Canada, monastic students gather for a formal debate session rooted in the Tibetan tradition of dialectical training—adapted here within Eastern Buddhist community (mainly Taiwanese). Classes assemble as one body, while selected groups take turns presenting challenges and responding under a strict, time‑bound structure. The hall becomes a space of rhythm: the stillness of seated study, the rise of voices, the gestures of inquiry, and the paced movement of those stepping forward to argue a point. In monochrome, the architecture and the ritual lines of bodies merge into a single field of discipline. What unfolds is not confrontation but a shared exercise in clarity—an annual practice where thinking, listening, and training converge into a collective search for understanding.
