For the 2019 'Van Eyck year' in Ghent, we partnered with the City of Ghent to do something special: Revisit recipes from the 15th century and turn them into pieces of art! Olly Ceulenaere revived culinary recipes from Jan van Eyck’s time and we photographed them as if they belonged in a museum. Every image was designed to feel like a small painted masterpiece that echo's Flemish still-life tradition. The result is an inspiring recipe booklet where heritage becomes tangible again: dishes elevated onto a pedestal, inviting modern audiences to look longer, feel more, and connect with Van Eyck's story through the most human medium: food.
