As I walked through the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, France, I came across a very quiet and still pigeon. I observed the bird for a moment before noting that one of its legs looked different. Looking closer, I saw that it was not a leg but a leaf, sitting exactly where the pigeon's real leg belonged, as if it were a perfect replacement. The picture is not an everyday moment, but a reminder of the joys nature gives when we stop to pay attention. This graceful pigeon stood on its good leg and leaf-leg for a few minutes. Then its real leg popped out, and off it went, leaving the leaf behind.
