Spirals

Whilst on a family trip to the UK in 2025, we headed for a trip to London to be tourists for the day. I brought my camera and one lens, more to record the day for prosperity rather than capture anything meaningful. As anticipated, photographic opportunities were minimal however, as we ventured along Regent Street I noticed this lane-way with the spiraling lights above, and the contrast of light and dark just screamed out "black and white". I told the family I would catch them up and quickly readied myself and my camera among the crowd on one of London's busiest tourist streets. Initially I was happy to just capture the architecture, given where I was, but just as I was about to move along someone walked into the frame and provided that crucial extra element to complete the scene.
