Body Remembers, Spirit SeesAra Ní ń Rántí, Ẹ̀mí Ní ń Rí (Body Remembers, Spirit Sees) is a conceptual photographic series exploring the architecture of interior life. Tracing a passage from inherited trauma to spiritual sovereignty, the work documents how memory is carried in the body while the spirit imagines freedom. This practice evolved from documentary work utilized by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) for the official public record. The Six Chapters od Black Witness I. Omobìnrin, Má Dákẹ (Girl, Don't Be Silent): This chapter investigates systemic silencing through the visual of forced silence. The tree behind the subject acts as a traditional witness, holding the judgments that society refuses to speak aloud. II. Ẹ̀wọ̀n Inú (Prison of the Mind): A study in self-containment and internal captivity. Here, the bed becomes a courtroom where shame and silence are the only witnesses to a loud mind. III. Ibojú Kì í Tani (The Mask Does Not Lie): An interrogation of the mask as a tool for survival. Cowries at the throat represent a material language of value and protection that survived trade and displacement. IV. Àmi Lóju, Ìtàn Lénu (Marks on the Face, History in the Mouth): This chapter frames the face as a map of lineage. Traditional markings meet neon futurism to prove that our softness can carry the heavy truth of history. V. Àwọ jệ Ohùn (Colour Is a Voice): An argument for joy as a political act of resistance. Colour remains a primary frequency of survival, represented by a sculpted halo of spiritual abundance. VI. Ọlọ́run Ní Nú Mi (The Divine Lives in Me): A study in divine accountability. Pupil-less eyes represent a spiritual gaze older than the body, reminding the viewer that the universe maintains a record of the unseen.
