Ripples

Sitting beside a river or stream is a transformative experience. The rhythmic movement of water draws me into a meditative state, like the immersive flow of musical strings. The soft murmers of smooth currents form a serene harmony, while the crescendo of white water becomes a vivid, textured melody. Ripples is my visual interpretation of this melody, translating the fluid, musical qualities of water into abstract photographic compositions. When I listen to music, I feel a profound connection to the emotions it evokes—much like the way abstract art stirs something ethereal within me. Flowing water, with its continuous motion, brings forth a sensation of a painter's brush strokes sweeping across a canvas. The interplay of light and shadow form a mysterious serenity inside me, while the ripples themselves offer a delicate dissonance—a gentle tension between the smooth, reflective surface and the brighter, chaotic whites of rushing water. These contrasts parallel the complexities I feel when experiencing abstract art, such as Alfred Stieglitz's Equivalents.
