This series presents four perspectives of a single structure at Western Sydney University’s Bankstown campus, each image capturing a different side of the building. Rather than documenting the architecture as a whole, the project explores how form, light, and perspective shift depending on where you stand. Each side reveals its own character through changing geometry, patterns, and shadow, transforming one building into four distinct visual experiences. The images were created using a combination of long exposure and fast shutter techniques. Longer exposures soften cloud movement, introducing a sense of motion that contrasts with the rigid structure. In other instances, faster shutter speeds under clearer skies create a minimal, subdued backdrop, allowing the building’s form to stand in isolation. Shot from low angles to emphasise scale and repetition, the series highlights the building’s layered design and strong structural lines. Presented in black and white, the work removes distraction and draws focus to contrast, texture, and form. Together, the images form a cohesive study of how a single subject can be reinterpreted through perspective, light, and time.
