Bienvenido Velasco is a Panamanian photographer. Staff member of EFE News Agency based in Panama City. Born in Panama, Velasco has devoted himself to photojournalism for about 15 years, the last six of which have been as a photographer for EFE, covering latest news in different countries in the Latin American region. These coverages include social, political, national and sports events in Central America, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela. He has also documented the migration of thousands of people through the jungle of Darien. His career starts as a local photo journalist and then works for several international agencies during her career. He currently resides in Panama, and is responsible for EFE's news coverage nationally. Previously, he collaborated with news agencies such as AFP and Reuters. Velasco's photographic work has been recognized as The National Press Award for best photograph in three different occassions.
