Huang Chen-Chieh (HCC) is a GEBIS Buddhist monk and senior lecturer in Buddhist logic. Ordained at eleven, he has devoted over three decades to Dharma cultivation and more than a decade to teaching. Alongside his monastic path, he pursues visual art with deep conviction—his first-ever submission to the New York Photography Awards (2025) won Gold in the Wildlife category. Based on Prince Edward Island, HCC’s work centers on life, compassion, and inner awakening. Through his lens, he captures fleeting yet timeless moments in nature, inviting viewers to pause, rekindle awe and hope, and reconnect with their deepest feelings. Guided by the Buddhist insight that awakening lives in the everyday—In each flower, a universe; in each leaf, the Buddha-nature revealed.—he uses visual creation to celebrate the beauty of living beings and to share compassion and wisdom with all.
