Carlo D'Orta is born in Florence in 1955. In 2004-2009 dedicating himself to the study of contemporary art and refining his skills with advanced courses in painting within the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) and a master's degree in photography at the IED in Milan. Since 2009 he began doing art photography for work. In 2015 he opened his ArtStudio/Gallery in Rome, where every month he organize a different two-person exhibition togheter with a different artist. He has been exhibiting his photography artworks since 2009 in solo exhibitions at public institutions and private galleries in Italy, Germany, Singapore, and other countries. In 2013 he held his individual exhibition Biology of the Inorganic, in the Museum at Collicola Palace of Spoleto. In 2015 the Venice Zattere Workshop hosted his exhibition Beyond the Lens. The same exhibition was then also taken to the Temple of Pomona in Salerno. In January 2017, The National Museum of Singapore hosted his Vibrations exhibition. In 2018 the Museum of the Central Archives of the State in Rome hosted his exhibition dedicated to architecture in the EUR district of Rome. In 2023 his personal exhibitions have been hosted in Museum of Chiostro Santa Sophia of Benevento and in 2024 in Palazzo Scacciaricci of Viterbo. In autumn 2025 his personal exhibitions will be in ExpoArte Palace and in Camera Deputati in Rome. He has won, been a finalist or short-listed in numerous national and international awards, including: First Photography Prize in 1° Edition of Art Biennale of Roman Riviera 2023, AIPAI Prize 2023, Arte Borgo First Prize 2022, PX3 Paris 2020 section Industrial Architectures, 3rd Biennale of Contemporary Art in Genoa 2019 2° Prize, The Colleferro Art and Architecture Award 2019 Finalist, Malamegi Vision Art Contest 2019 Finalist, Rospigliosi Prize 2018 First Prize, Satura International Contest 2018 Third Prize, The Arteam Cup 2018, The Linx Prize 2017, Abate Zanetti School of Glass prize, Murano (as a photo-designer)and The Enegan Art Prize, Sony World Photography Award 2012, Urban Photo Award. The Celeste Prize 2010, His artworks are in many important Public and Institutional Collections and private collections.
