Since my early days as a teenager using a borrowed 35mm camera and rolls of B&W film I have loved seeing the world through the lens of my camera and sharing what I see with people. My photography journey has included many years of traveling to amazing places, many of them related to my work as a research scientist, and now that I have retired from my day job, I have become a full-time photographer. I have recently begun submitting my photography as a profession and look forward to this new and exciting phase of my growth as a photographer. I have never stopped taking photos from the first day I picked up a camera and I have never stopped submitting my work from the very first photo of mine that was purchased and used in my local newspaper when I was 15 years old. My photos have graced state fair competitions, friend’s homes, and as of late international competitions all within amateur categories, until now. With recent wins in international competition I now see myself as a professional photographer and as my amateur photographer journey comes to an end I look forward with excitement and joy for my incredible new journey as a professional photographer.
